Sports help people feel better.
When you exercise, your body releases chemicals called endorphins.
These endorphins interact with the receptors in your brain that reduce your perception of pain.
Endorphins also trigger a positive feeling in the body.
A study done by the researchers of the Crochrane Collaboration shows that 39 studies for sport helping depression have been undertaken, it included nearly 2330 participants, all diagnosed with depression.
it showed that over a 16 week period, almost 65 percent of people were able to cope or pull through their depression easier.
the other 45 percent of people were people who mostly dropped out of the tests before the time period was over, so they could not include their conclusion.
Sports also helps people academically;
a study done by the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics, shows that students who partake in sports or extra curricular activities obtain better grades in tests, they become less hostile towards classmates, and become more friendly to each other and newcomers because they have good teamwork, and they become less hostile mentally towards each other.
Over 75 percent of students showed a positive result when they were in sport.
This study began in 1988 and finished in 2014, it included 14,000 students of all over the country, and every where had the same result:
people become more sociable, less hostile to others, and become better academically.
Therefore sport does bring out the best in people.

- Introduction, good evening ladies and gentlemen etc,
I'm here to talk about the topic "Sport brings out the best in people"
-Yes I believe that sport brings out the best in people as it gives us goals to aim for.
- This means that you set yourself targets and you learn to work hard to achieve them.
- This requires discipline and commitment.
- Look at any of the famous and successful sports-people, none of them would have progressed to where they are now, if they had never tried extremely hard and persisted to achieve their goals.
For example Colm Cooper (the Gooch), Michael Phelps, Katie Taylor and many more
- This is why I firmly believe that sport brings out the best in people.
I will be talking about good role models in sport and how sports has brought out the best in them and pushed them to get to where they are today.
Sport doesn't bring out the best in people. Look at Conor Mc Gregor he has tattoos up to his neck which in my opinion is very bad influence on our children. For example he curses when hes mad and these videos get online and children see these videos and repeat this language to their friends, neighbours, relatives and YOU. Violence is coming out not just MMA but in GAA and soccer. So violence is now a huge problem in sports people nowadays so sport does not bring out the best in people.
